    Ketamine (In Control pg 3)

Q1) What are the different forms of ketamine?

Ans: Ketamine is actually a powerful anaesthetic-a medication that reduces pain- that is used in both animals and humans. Doctor and vets can use it legally, usually is an injectable liquid form. Some people consume the drug illegally to get high. Ketamine also comes in powder form, which users snort up their nostrils, or as tablets that are swallowed.

Q2) What would you do if you knew your friend took ketamine?

Ans: I’d try my best to advise my friend not to take Ketamine, telling him it will destroy your future by taking it illegally. If he continued to take Ketamine, I would ask him to go for drug rehabilitation and maybe I would help him to get some professional help.

    Term 1, Week 8 (23 Feb 09)

Getting to the heart of Total Defense (Home-Youthink pg B7)

Q1) In the last line, what did the writer mean by suggesting that “he may have found more porcupines than rats?”

Ans: It means that more brave people are appearing, it is from the last time to now, more and more people are becoming braver then being a lazy or who does not like to participate. Evidence is from this year’s Total Defence campaign, as he suggests that he may have found more porcupines than rats.

Q2) What’s worth giving up your life for?

    Ans:
Firstly > I feel strongly about securing the military defence of our nation, not just only for the present generation and train recruits to be proficient in the military skills, but also to inspire them to be passionate about national service and understand its importance in the face of the threats like terrorism. Now it is all seriousness that I will be faithful to my Specialist Creed: “I will defend Singapore WITH MY LIFE!”
Secondly > If Singapore were faced with a mortal crisis, my first thought would be protecting my family and myself. I may not be the only one holding such views. Many of the peers equally have no qualms about cutting and running for their own sake, as long as thief families’ safety was secured.
Thirdly > It was about race riots, when racial tensions simmered to the fore, there were chaos and bloodshed throughout the streets of the Singapore. Harmony is crucial to the continuity of the peace and prosperity. If it were to break down, the life here would not be bearable. Truly, racial harmony is something I’ll defend with my life.
Lastly > If anyone were to defend something with his life, it should be the ideals and principles that allow him to train his fullest potential. No country is perfect, but Singapore gets it right more than others, it is worth defending.

    Term 1, Week 7 (16 Feb 09)

No Loitering After School (IN! pg 7)
Q1) Why Coral Secondary School forbids students to idle around near their school in their school uniform?
Ans: The school forbids any student in uniform to enter White Sands shopping mall in Pasir Ris. The rules, imposed several years ago, also forbids students in uniform from hanging out anywhere in the neighbouring housing estate. Coral Secondary places much emphasis on inculcating in our students good habits like using time prudently, so their interest are not to loiter in the malls after school. Now the school even deploys teacher to patrol the shopping mall and neighbouring areas after school, if students are caught loitering, they will be given two hours detention.

Q2) Do you agree with this rule? Explain your answer.
Ans: I don’t agree with this rule. The school is taking our freedom from going to shopping mall or loitering. If our parents tell us to eat outside then come home. Since the school banned us from loitering, how are we going to eat?

Master of One (Life! People pg 4)
Q1) What was Jack Neo’s vocation when he was serving the nation?
Ans: Jack Neo signed on with the army as an infantry officer; he got posted to the army’s Music and Drama Company; part time acting, emceeing, singing and comedy skits on TV and live theatre and getai shows; conducted drama-training classes; produced karaoke music videos; recorded best-selling comedy albums and published a comic book.

Q2) “Hard work leads to success.”
To what extend do you agree with this statement?
Ans: I do agree to this statement, but not always it will be successful. Hard work can give us a good grade and good benefits to pass our exams or other subjects that you want to success at it. My own opinion is that hard work will have the higher chances to success in any subjects, and by paying attention during the class, reading more storybooks and newspaper will help you to get more better results. I think hard work is worth it to get good results.

    Term 1, Week 5 (2 Feb 09)

Golfers, youths in brawl on green (HOME, pg 1)
Q1) How did the teenagers trespass into Singapore Island Country Club?
Ans: The teenagers had a fight erupted between a group of golfers at the Singapore Island Country Club and a group of youths accused of trespassing on the green. The teenagers trespass into the Singapore Island Country Club as they were drank and sleep in the centre of the golf. They claimed that there has fence, so they trespass it.

Q2) Is underage drinking correct? Explain your answer.
Ans: I think underage drinking isn’t correct. It will affect your health to be worse. It will also be a addiction for underage drinkers as they do not know how to control their drinking limit, otherwise they will be drank. Everytime, when they have bad mood or lonely, they will go for a drink to relax and forgot about all the unpleasant past, until they are drank. So I suggest that drinking is a bad thing.
